Valencia Airport

Valencia Airport (VLC), also known as Valencia-Manises Airport, is located 8 km west of Valencia city centre, between the municipalities of Manises and Quart de Poblet. Its proximity to the city makes it one of Spain's most accessible airports for business and leisure travellers.

The airport's principal airlines are Air Nostrum (an Iberia Regional franchise), Vueling, Ryanair and Wizz Air, all of which have bases at the airport. Private and general aviation charter flights, as well as agricultural aviation activities, are also significant.

Valencia Airport is currently Spain's eighth-busiest airport by passenger numbers, with a record 11,847,527 passengers in 2025. It handled 93,110 aircraft movements that year. In air freight, it ranks sixth in Spain; in February 2026, it recorded year-on-year growth of 35.4%.

Key domestic destinations include Palma de Mallorca , Ibiza, Madrid-Barajas , Barcelona-El Prat , Seville , Bilbao and Málaga . International destinations include Amsterdam and Eindhoven, Paris, London, Frankfurt, Brussels and other routes in Europe and North Africa, including Rabat, Tangier, Fez and Marrakech.

The airport has runway 12/30 and two passenger terminals: the Main Terminal (T1 and T2) for domestic and international flights, and the Regional Aviation Terminal for regional services. It also has a General Aviation Terminal and a cargo terminal.

In 2012, the airport completed its most recent expansion under the Valencia Airport Master Plan, “Plan Levante”.

Master Plan and DORA III

Valencia Airport is considering a new stage of growth within the proposed Airport Regulation Document (DORA III) for 2027–2031, pending final approval.

The proposal includes a substantial expansion of the facilities: upgraded security screening with advanced technology, including 3D scanners; new boarding gates connected by passenger boarding bridges; and improvements to car parks and airport access.

The proposed investment is around €400 million. The final scope and timetable remain subject to final approval of DORA III.

These measures are intended to meet growing passenger demand and adapt airport capacity and infrastructure for future needs.

The airport has one runway, 69 feet above sea level: runway 12/30, 3,215 × 45 metres (8,858 × 148 feet), at an elevation of 16 metres.
