Terminals – T1, T2 and the Regional Terminal

Valencia Airport has three terminals, arranged as follows:

A Terminal Building for scheduled passenger aviation, combining the main terminal, which comprises T1 and T2, with the Regional Terminal, used exclusively for regional aviation;
a General Aviation terminal for charter and private flights;
a cargo terminal.

The main domestic destinations are Madrid-Barajas, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona–El Prat and Seville. The main international destinations include France (Paris), England (London), Italy and the Netherlands.

Passenger access to the airport’s different areas depends on whether a flight is domestic, intra-EU (Schengen or non-Schengen), international or regional.

Flight classification: Schengen and other flights

Flights are divided into three groups according to their origin or destination: Schengen, non-Schengen EU and third countries.

Schengen countries:

Flights originating in or bound for countries that have signed the Schengen Agreement.
Citizens of these countries may cross internal borders freely. Domestic flights are treated as Schengen flights. The Schengen Area comprises Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Non-Schengen EU countries:

Flights originating in or bound for EU countries that are not part of the Schengen Agreement.
There is no free movement of people: Ireland and Cyprus.

Third countries:

Flights originating in or bound for countries outside the European Union and outside the Schengen Agreement.

Valencia Airport terminals

All terminals within the Terminal Building are interconnected and have separate external access points.
The airport has 28 boarding gates across its three terminals: 14 in T1 and four in T2, all accessible from level 1 of those terminals. The Regional Terminal has 10 boarding gates, accessed from level 0.

Valencia Airport Terminal T1

Terminal T1, also known as the Main Terminal, handles domestic, international and intra-EU Schengen and non-Schengen flights.

Opened in 1983 and subsequently refurbished, the building currently has three public levels (0, 1 and 2). It stands in the centre of the Terminal Building, has separate external access and connects internally to T2 on the south-east side and to the Regional Terminal on the north-west side.

Terminal T1 offers the following services:

Check-in:

30 check-in desks for domestic and international flights (numbers 13 to 42), T1 level 1.

Boarding area:

The boarding area is accessed through the Departures security checkpoint in the Departures Hall, between T1 and T2 on level 1. It provides access to all airport boarding gates (A, B, C, D, E, F and R), with passport control where required by the destination.

Boarding gates:

T1 has 14 boarding gates, accessed through four concourses: A, B, C and D. It also connects with T2 and Regional Terminal boarding gates.

T1 level 1: gates A1–A4, B5–B8, C9–C12, D13 and D14.
T1 also connects with T2 and Regional Terminal gates:
T2 level 1: gates E15–E16 and F17–F18.
TR level 0: gates R51 to R60.

Flights: T1 arrivals

T1 contains the unified Arrivals area for all three terminals; T2 and TR do not have their own arrivals areas.
T1 Arrivals Hall, level 0.

Baggage reclaim, immigration and Customs:

T1 level 0.
Passport control is provided according to the flight’s origin.
12 baggage belts in four halls, including one for special baggage (Hall 4).
Customs: T1 level 0, baggage reclaim area.
Lost baggage: T1 level 0.

Baggage reclaim halls 1, 2 and 3 have a Tourist Mobile Point, where free interactive tourist guides can be downloaded via Bluetooth.

Valencia Airport Terminal T2

Terminal T2 is part of the Terminal Building and handles domestic, international and intra-EU Schengen and non-Schengen flights. It was opened on 1 August 2012. It has five levels, of which only level 1 is open to the public. It is at the south-east end of the Terminal Building, has separate external access, and connects internally on its north-west side to Main Terminal T1 and the Regional Terminal.

Terminal T2 offers the following services:

T2 has four boarding gates, accessed through two concourses: E and F. It also connects with T1 and Regional Terminal boarding gates.

T2 level 1: gates E15–E16 and F17–F18.
T2 also connects with T1 and Regional Terminal gates:
T1 level 1: gates A1–A4, B5–B8, C9–C12, D13 and D14.
TR level 0: gates R51 to R60.

Flights: T2 arrivals

Valencia Airport Regional Terminal

The Regional Terminal is part of the Terminal Building and handles regional flights only. It was opened in 2007 for the America’s Cup sailing event. It has two public levels (0 and 1). It is at the north-west end of the Terminal Building, has separate external access, and connects internally on its south-east side to Main Terminal T1 and Terminal T2.

The Regional Terminal offers the following services:

Unlike T1 and T2, TR boarding gates are on level 0 at ground level, so passengers must go down one level. It has ten boarding gates, accessed through five doors marked “R”. It also connects with T1 and T2 boarding gates.

Regional Terminal level 0: gates R51 to R60.
TR also connects with T1 and T2 gates:
T1 level 1: gates A1–A4, B5–B8, C9–C12, D13 and D14.
T2 level 1: gates E15–E16 and F17–F18.

Flights: Regional Terminal arrivals
